The debate has occurred in the published scientific literature and will continue to occur. That is the way it works in science. It takes knowledge and training to be able to begin to follow and understand any scientific debate in a meaningful way. Someone needs to spend 1-2 decades in training to do so. I suggest you enroll in graduate school as soon as possible so you can start that process.
