ABU DHABI, 29th April, 2022 (WAM) -- Under the Patronage of HH Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, the World Utilities Congress will be held from May 9th to 11th 2022 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC).
Hosted by TAQA, the World Utilities Congress provides a unique opportunity for the global energy and water industries to meet, discuss trends and explore technologies and innovations that will impact future energy and water needs. The three-day exhibition and conference will also facilitate direct access to growth opportunities in the United Arab Emirates and the wider MENA region, as well as in the fast-growing economies of Asia.

The World Utilities Congress will gather more than 10,000 professionals and 120 exhibiting companies to promote proactive measures to digitize power and water systems, control emissions and encourage long-term investment. The congress will also bring together over 200 industry experts and over 1000 conference attendees, offering more than 50 strategic and technical conference sessions.

Conference sessions will focus on the policies, strategies and solutions needed to tackle the energy transition, as well as forward-looking digital technologies that will transform the utility sector. Responding to the evolving market and current customer needs, the conference will examine key topics such as decarbonization and energy transition, global industry dynamics, collaboration and strategic partnerships, customer-centric business models and digital transformation, and technology innovation.
The strategy conference will also host two ministerial meetings designed to highlight the importance of policies, regulations and regional cooperation, as well as the urgency for leaders to lay a solid foundation for a resilient and sustainable utilities sector.
Speakers at these sessions include Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Belinda Balluku, Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Albania; Parviz Shahbazov, Minister of Energy, Republic of Azerbaijan; Doskul Bekmurzaev, Minister of Energy, Kyrgyz Republic; Daler Juma, Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Republic of Tajikistan; Abubakar D. Aliyu, Minister of Energy, Nigeria; Soda Zhemu, Minister of Energy and Power Development, Zimbabwe; Yonis Ali Guedi, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Republic of Djibouti; and William Owuraku Aidoo, Deputy Minister of Energy, Ghana.
The concurrent conference will cover the entire utility value chain, including power generation, transmission and distribution, water management, sanitation, district cooling and customer retention. The conference will provide professionals with numerous opportunities to learn about the latest industry knowledge and research, technical expertise, new project developments, cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices.
