Yes. I keep going back to my Washington Mutual experience. I held after bankruptcy which was filed when the bank was (illegally) seized on Sep 25, 2008. Made a ton of money early on, and eventually held on while the litigation continues to this day. The pre-seizure holders got some of their money back eventually, but many got their lives destroyed in the meantime, many lost their life savings, died prematurely, and hope goes on now 14 years later, though the end may be in sight. Maybe not.
