I have used AdAware for years, and I swear by it. I also use Spybot, and between the two of them, I run a clean ship.
Only had one problem that the two couldn't solve - a trojan that brought my homepage automatically to a website to sell junk cheap.
I fould a way to get rid of that through CWShredder.
