Why bother procuring patent protection for the IP that is developed?
Samsung, Google, and Micron it will mean the difference between patent protection of the IP for a company and no protection of patented IP for a company. It will signal that other companies can infringe as they wish and abuse another company's patented or seminal patented IP, increase market share by doing so and pay minimal to get away with it.
