Many distributors do not like what is referred to as “pioneering” a company. That means taking on a company that either has a small customer base and or possibly no customer base. Developing a customer base and winning business generally has a significant gestation period - meaning they would have to make a considerable investment in time and effort that likely would not yield a return for months and months if at all. Many will simply not do this.
