MORE will pass the house no problem today. Unfortunately very little chance in the Senate. At this point, you have to ask yourself why? There are clear benefits financially and socially. An overwhelming majority of the populace supports decriminalization. Even the staunchest opponents know there is little clout in the old school 'making it available to our children' arguments that they perpetuate.
So, is it the paid for agenda of the Senate in general? Do both sides of the Senate have so much campaign and personal money locked up in the interests of big business that they can never vote in a way that represents those that voted for them? If so, is big Pharma driving continued prohibition and very concerned with the competition Marijuana would give to many of their drugs? Being an actual plant, no way for big Pharma to 'patent' it or monopolize and price gauge it's sales.
