Do many people there use US stocks/bonds as stores of wealth?

Amazing how stocks have recovered lately. As usual, I sold nothing when the troubles started. Most of my stocks fell about 10%, although some of that was due to raising interest rates. Berkshire Hathaway has been my favorite stock and it's been an enormous winner all year.
