None of that is accurate. Anyone can short a pinky as long has the put up the required collateral: $2.50 per share. This is why we all call BS when someone claims their beloved pinky scam ticker is being shorted. Who, in their right mind would short a million shares just to make a few thousand while tying up millions that could be used on more worthy investments? The risk exposure is infinity since there is no maximum price the stock might hit in a squeeze but there is a limit to how much you can make and that would be when the stock price hits zero - delisting, etc.
