Manipulation is happening on ALL stocks.

If this is a dividend type payment sent only to owners of real shares, shorts will have fund a way to provide said tokens or cover their short positions. Same goes for synthetics created by brokers and MMs.

Either way, news of a dividend and potential short squeeze usually brings in volume. Volume can overcome manipulation.
