"Our long-term goal for Prodigy Textiles is to create a research center for development of our specialized silk, to contract with local farming cooperatives to grow upwards of 2,500 hectares of mulberry (which would allow for production of up to 250 metric tons of our high strength silk per year), and to serve as our principal manufacturing center. As of December 31, 2021 we are well on track to achieve this goal."
so as of the end of Dec, they were on track...
since then, in order to scale up operations, new equipment was delivered and installed at prodigy and workers were trained...this was supposed to greatly increase the speed of production...(pr on 1-4)...
$3mil more of funding...a huge positive to know that the money to get prodigy to mass production and some expansion is THERE...as well as dealing with any unforeseen costs...(pr 1-20)
a quantity of ds yarn was sent to spydasilk...which was stated to be enough for spydasilk to begin making premium fabrics and garments...and the insinuation is that that would kick off a sales and marketing campaign...(2-10)
5th generation of ds worms are first with 100% screening being done at prodigy...should result in 20-50 times current MONTHLY production rates...(pr 3-7)
all this was apparently not taken into consideration in the 10k which covers only up to Dec 31 2021...as far as long term goes anyway...
i have a hard time thinking that kim was referring to the possibility that 5 tons per year was the goal...thats about 400 kilos per month...and if that is 50 times more than was currently being made, that means that prodigy was making 8 kilos per month...
but that, imo, IS what he said...
so i suppose it's all about how fast they can scale up...if they can go up 50 times to 400 kilos, how fast can they double that?...
i dont know..
