One of my bosses, out of the home office….Regional VP of Operations from Omaha, would fly in every 2-3 months, and the first thing OUT of his mouth when I picked him up at the airport (leer jet) was “ how you tracking”.
Not hello, not good to see you……but “HOW YOU TRACKING”. Which was a direct question to was my plant performing to standard financials. The company had 29 plants across the country, all different customer bases, and different ranging services, and different labor markets. Yet, we all were under one set of metrics. My plant always moved more product per man/hr, that the others, but usually fell under the standard metric.
This ass hat, Roger, wasn’t capable of analyzing anything but what the set in stone metrics were, and he reminds me so much of Nash. Yet Nash is worse, because he doesn’t have performance metrics apparently, and doesn’t appear to answer to anyone. Not even the shareholders. What’s more, I don’t think he could have handled my position. Fair or not, accountability counts.
And Nash, we will hold you accountable.
