The big guys make a lot of money selling options..... including puts

They can sell puts all day, if they want the actual stock they can hold price below and collect the premium as well as the stock (if they really have uncovered stock which I don't believe)

Options have been a nice little bonus for me on AMC

Sleep in. The second mouse gets the cheese. The early worm gets eaten by the bird.
