JH, I'll give it a shot. In my opinion there is a much stronger argument against buying Russian oil than China's solar panels for the following reasons:
- The purchase of Russian oil is funding their illegitimate war against Ukraine
- The US can easily increase domestic oil production to replace Russian oil, which is also supposed to be dirtier than US oil and thus a worse polluter for the environment
- The U.S. does not currently have the domestic solar panel production capacity to replace China's, and solar panels do not pollute the environment
