If I understand you correctly ? Using your logic in my opinion, a guy named Joe buys a house and in order to do so takes on two mortgages and major credit card debt to both buy and furnish his new home. Joe has a new job that pays a lot of money and within 24 months he (Joe) not only pays off his high interest credit cards , he also pays off the second mortgage and most of the first mortgage. In this scenario would you suggest Joe makes no money or is actually losing money because the first mortgage is not completely paid off ? Would you say Joe is not profitable ? Would you say Joe is "not making a profit" ?
