m_g, there could be news of the superVision patent today. I haven't seen a PR yet, but may get one later today.
Here is the good news. I have been able to verify that patent # 7173237 is in fact SuperVision. Go to this page on the U.S. patent website. This page is for application # 11/257,300 titled "Ruggedized Digital Low-Light Viweing Device" Now on that page if you go to Issue notification you can see that 11/257,300 is patent #7173237.

To see what application 11/257,300 is go to "notice of allowance and fees."

Now if you go to the top of the page, and type in the patent number, you can see that it is to be issued on 2-06-07.
