The bus program is going to be used as Torvec's way of pushing the industry. The 5 million needed will be attained shortly through either state funding or private investment. Upon verification of test results 55,000 units will be installed in buses around the state. Such an order makes mass production a reality as permanent tooling will be made available to fill the order. This will also make the chicago municipal vehicle retrofit program attainable as unit prices will be at mass production levels. Either a large auto parts maker or vehicle maker will get on board now to be the ones to fill these orders or Torvec will make a deal with one of the many large nmachine shops in rochester to fill the orders. Either way the market will shift. Manufacturers will either need to purchase Torvec technology or invent their own or purchase IVT TEch from someone else. The push does not need to be huge in order to get this ball rolling. This is why a commercialization event for either Torvc or torotrak is good for both companies, it gets the industry rolling and starts competition. The bus program will commence very soon.
