Did you know that they pronounce all of their vowels differently in China?

Four in Chinese is “sì”, which is “suh” but with a slight drop in tone from high to low, denoted by the slash over the i. It’s barely noticeable in the word sì, but much more noticeable in others. This has always confused me when I hear someone with a Chinese accent speaking English because their tone changes on vowels is similar to what we do when we ask a question.
