However I do not have an inside with the company and do not know whether the changes were resignations, firings or some amalgamation thereof.

I stand firm in my contention that some part of the letter should have been dedicated to openly acknowledge the past mistakes.

By nature people are very forgiving and stating something to the effect of "This past year, we, at NEOM, have made some mistakes that have negatively impacted the value of our and your stock price. I want to apprise you of the changes we have made to hopefully avoid making similar mistakes in the future. [Enter changes here]".

Not trying to split hairs as what is, is; however openly accounting for the blunders of 2006 would have gone a long way to reestablish confidence in the optimistic forward-looking statements.
