Global PoleTrusion Group Corp. Uses Nanotechnology to Improve their Composite Poles
Miami, Florida, November 8, 2021 Global PoleTrusion Group Corp.(OTC PINK: GPGC) manufactures utility poles made of FRP composite materials and remains at the forefront of implementing innovative technologies to continuously improve the products they offer.

FRP composites are a polymer matrix (e.g. epoxy) reinforced with fibers (e.g. glass). They are much lighter than steel with comparable tensile strength. They are known for their long life, anti-corrosion characteristics, and weather resistance. Additionally, they can be developed with enhanced characteristics by selecting the proper matrix, fiber type, and matrix armoring fillers. As GPGC aims to produce revolutionary composite poles that are much lighter and longer lasting, they will pioneer the use of nanotechnology in this industry. Nanotechnology has been used to considerably improve the characteristics of materials and technologies in several fields, including transportation, information technology, energy, medicine and many more.

Nanotubes (NTs) represent the state-of-the-art of nanotechnology for engineering applications. NTs are long, thin cylinders at the nanoscale which are one-millionth of a millimeter in size or one-hundred-thousandth of the thickness of a sheet of paper. They are too small to be detected by the human eye and have different physical and chemical properties than their larger counterparts of the same substance. They can be used as nanofillers in the matrix of FRP composites in small quantities. They have a very high surface-area-to-volume ratio, which allows them to play an essential role in improving the strength of the material by strengthening the bonds between the particles of the matrix. They work as a bridge within the molecular structure of the material. NTs can also provide specific functionalities such as an ultraviolet barrier to protect the poles from sun damage. GPGC continues to participate in ongoing research to find the most innovative solutions for their clients.
