JP Morgan left the DTCC to get out of paying for the MOASS. The DTCC is the insurance policy. The shorts can’t disappear because someone in the market made a bad bet, otherwise we don’t have a market. This is why the DTCC required increased liquidity for every member of the DTCC. IMHO
