Arguably it could imply investors were expecting a surprise dovish statement, and were disappointed when they didn’t get it.
I would prefer that isn’t correct because a market that regularly expects upside surprises is prone to disappointment.
Could be a million other things too, and if the market ends the day deeply in the red, I’m sure we will see many of them mentioned in the financial media. Volatility has been epic.
