I have a question for you as a vegetarian. I gather that they begin with something that comes from an animal in starting the bioreactor, but I believe that what's used after that are essentially chemicals and when it's finished you have a steak, or whatever meat they're creating. Would a vegetarian eat such a steak. I can't tell you precisely what's input into the bioreactor. If there are products that come from animals I can understand a no, but if nothing is coming from animals, but the first cells that initiate the reaction, would you still not eat it.
Frankly over the years I've tasted vegetable based imitations of meat that were pretty good, but not as good as the real thing IMHO. I don't believe that the man made meat is necessarily any healthier than what happens in nature, but it can be if the components in it are purer than the feed the animals are on. I suspect that some vegetarians will enjoy these products, while others won't eat them as essentially they're man made meats.
If our bioreactor is as good as I believe it may be, products from it may be as good or better than the very best of the meats they're replacing because of their consistency. A restaurant may purchase the same quality of steaks all the time, but lets face it, sometimes you get a tough one, or one that just isn't as tasty. If I'm right, that won't be a problem if it's been created in a bioreactor.
If what's used to create the steak is the same thing an animal eats, it may very well be purely vegetable products. I don't think you'd eat it, but that's because the bioreactor is doing the same thing the animal did. It does create some food for thought.
I've had the two shots and booster from Moderna so I don't believe what I've got will get serious, but I am immune compromised. My Dr. at City of Hope isn't concerned at this point, but if I get sicker I'm sure he will be.
