Many have claimed that penny stocks in general can't be shorted, but if you've been around the trading scene for a while you learn that they can be shorted. Very risky yes, but it can be done. Especially the higher priced per share penny stocks. I would think that's a little safer.
You can always call your broker to see if there are shares available to short for any given ticker.
Shorting is not for me either. May mess around with it some day for certain tickers that I'm not so serious about just for the hell of it and to see if I can make a few bucks doing it.
