Good post bucweet34. I am inclined to agree with almost everything this person stated with one exception. He stated:

In fact naked shorts, which surely dwarf legally borrowed shorts, are probably maxed out

I've been around for quite awhile and have carefully observed and read more than I care to admit on this topic and although I'm nowhere near the level of Black Ops, I do consider myself at least somewhat familiar with this topic. NEVER have I ever read anywhere that naked shorts can "max out". I'm willing to be corrected here but I don't believe it's possible given how it works.

The whole idea behind what they do is that they are ILLEGAL naked shorts. They bypass the law and short without limit because there are no limits since they don't borrow first. If they were borrowing the shares they wish to short then it wouldn't be illegal naked shorts.

Where they get into trouble is when that ONE in a thousand companies successfully achieve their goals and reach revenue status. In our case, this will happen with BTD, full approval, EUA, etc. There are any number of catalysts that could trigger buying. Chief among them will be Full Approval or BTD followed by revenue. Once a catalyst such as one of those is achieved then the legal and illegal naked shorts will be in serious trouble. This will be the kind of event that ends careers and takes companies and funds down hard. This is going to be painful for those on the short side of this play.

I'm glad I can sleep well at night.
