While the president "makes an oath" to defend the US constitution, "enforcement" of this oath is rather onerous

This oath to defend the US Constitution is too often overridden in the name of "national emergencies" when lawmakers and presidents will by executive orders and/or legislation experiment with Constitutionally suspect laws and actions. For example: Trump/Biden CDC Eviction Moratorium or Elizabeth Warrens experimental foray into stretching the Separation of Powers via the "for cause" provision in hera.
