Biotech news "Federal Industry Minister, Ian Macfarlane announced, $500 million of new investment in the pharmaceuticals sector will be unlocked through the new Pharmaceuticals Partnerships Program (P3).

The Howard Government will double its direct funding for research and development by the Australian pharmaceuticals sector when the current Pharmaceutical Industry Investment Program (PIIP) is replaced by the P3 scheme from 1st July 2004.

This should go a long way to boosting the BioTech companies especially those looking at listing on the ASX."
