GM Al, I dont disagree that statistics can be inaccurate to some degree. That's why I used hospitalizations and not cases counts. But I will say anecdotally, that in previous variant waves, we knew very few people who came down with covid. This go round, we know many people who have tested positive - and have had (thankfully) mild symptoms.
In Maryland, hospitalization occupancy due to covid went from 600 to over 2000 in just a month. You cant fake that huge increase in such a short amount of time.
And the hospitals that are being overwhelmed in Maryland the most are in the areas with the lower vaccination rates. Coincidence ? I think not.
I'm dissapointed that the hard core Republican Party has become the party of "if I dont like what the numbers are saying, then I'll simply find a way to discredit the numbers".
But based on the 1200+ non-vaccinated daily deaths from covid, along with normal age related deaths, and climate change activist Gen-Zers become voting age eligible, the current incarnation of the Republican Party is going to increasingly find it tougher to win elections.
