Bitcoin come out first and have status of a Big Daddy! Bitcoin is a leader of the pack, all of the rest that came later have no choice but to follow. All alternative coins can only compete among themselves in order to get ahead among themselves but Bitcoin is always going to be standing out and be in class of it's own and serve as measuring rode to all that follow.
