The problem is you just cannot cut off oil and gas with the alternatives not being ready. You have to either beef up the grid some way or replace what you lost and that will take years, otherwise you have chaos and shortages. Just think how many years and trillions spent on the oil, gas and coal industries. Sure I want clean air, but don't think anyone wants to give up anything to get there. They want light, hot water, air conditioners, heat, and it all to be affordable.
