Golden Telecom announced yesterday that they plan commercial operations of their Wi-Fi network in Moscow on February 1st.
Their network covers 800,000 households in Moscow and the company says they’re the “the largest Wi-Fi network in Europe and the second largest in the world.”
Golden Telecom entered the final phase of their Wi-Fi network testing at the end of last year, and since then, a whopping 50,000 users have registered.
“By 2010, we expect to achieve a significant consumer market share, with approximately 300,000-400,000 subscribers,” Golden Telecom’s CEO Jean-Pierre Vandromme.
