***HOW MUCH MULBERRY DO IMAGINARY SILKWORMS EAT???***

KBLB has been talking about vast amounts of mulberry for at least 5 years.

In August 2016, KBLB (supposedly) ordered 2000 mulberry trees. This was supposed to "expand its US production":

" the Company will be able to significantly expand its US production of spider silk fibers including both Dragon Silk and Monster Silk"

In January 2017, KBLB leased a property in TX to plant the Mulberry trees:

"announced it had secured a long term property lease in Texas for the Company’s domestic mulberry production. Over the next 60 days the Company will complete the first phase of expansion by preparing the land and planting 2,000 mulberry trees. These trees will provide the Company with the continuous supply of fresh mulberry leaves needed to produce its record setting Dragon Silk"

In March 2017, KBLB planted 2000 mulberry trees on their TX property:

"today announced it has completed the planting of the first 2,000 mulberry trees at its Texas location. This facility and these trees will be used to supply the Company’s US recombinant spider silk operations with fresh mulberry leaves. The Company expects to begin harvesting these leaves in the 3rd or 4th quarter of this year."

In June 2018, KBLB stated that they were working with local cooperative to expand mulberry production by nearly 2,500 acres:

"Plans to add nearly 2,500 acres of mulberry to support commercialization scale of up of the Company’s recombinant spider silk technology"

"announces today that the Company’s representatives in Quang Nam province, Vietnam are working, in collaboration with a local cooperative, to expand mulberry production"

"Expanding mulberry production in Quang Nam, by nearly 2,500 acres, is a powerful step to increasing total silk production and a key component of the Company’s plan to bring its spider silk technology to market."

In July 2018, KBLB reported that the farming cooperatives had begun planting up to 6000 acres of mulberry:

"farming cooperatives have now begun planting mulberry"

"local sourcing of mulberry are core to the Company’s strategic plan. Under these agreements the Company expects that as many as 2,500 hectares (~6177 acres) of mulberry will be planted near the Company’s new factory, supporting Prodigy Textiles spider silk production for several years to come."

"“Planting these mulberry fields means that we now able to support rearing our hybrid silkworms at Prodigy Textiles,” said Jon Rice, COO. “Access to large quantities of fresh mulberry is a core piece of our production growth strategy and was a key element of our decision to select Vietnam for commercializing our spider silk technology. The local farming cooperatives have the existing capacity to meet Prodigy’s mulberry needs over the coming months."

In January 2020, a bomb was dropped when investors found out that commercial production had a "hiccup" because they didn't obtain "quality mulberry". KBLB announced that they were going to plant another 40 acres of mulberry.

"Kraig labs has also taken steps to ensure that feedstock will not disrupt its future winter production cycle, by utilizing land set aside from the government to immediately plant an additional 40 acres of mulberry trees. This increased capacity and continuous supply of high quality mulberry is an important component of the Company’s production operations. This expansion of lands available to the Company and its work with the local farming cooperatives will allow for tighter control and ensure that this key input in readily available and of the highest quality."

In April 2021, KBLB stated that they had funded the planting of 100,000 mulberry trees:

"KBLB ... honors Arbor Day by funding the planting of more than 100,000 mulberry trees"

And today, KBLB announced that they have planted several acres of mulberry:
