It works because if the stock is undervalued/underappreciated the gap to the lowest price a person is willing to sell for will continue to get higher and higher. Except for the "shorts" who come in and sell little increments, probably of shares they already own, short. They have to sell or give up their already owned shares later by the due date. But if they can cause other people to get frightened and sell more than a few shares they get to buy back those shares cheaper. If you own 1,000,000 shares of GVSI and you short 300...what's it really gonna cost you. I just get real bored of it and want to see bigger gains in the share price soon. And I think its stupid "Canada" can do it and we can't. Who are we hurting with all this protection? Only American investors. Or wait, they are "protecting" us?
