Nothing wrong with that, good to get as much info as possible. But make no mistake, the US Gov. was and still is caught off guard with crypto.
The professionals will always seek to capitalize on that defect. When I worked in passport it was always fun when applicants hired a lawyer to apply for a passport...while there are complex cases such as derivative citizenship, it's generally something you will never need to do. The best (funnest) part was showing the lawyer where they are wrong as they fruitlessly attempt to twist the regs. or find the non-existent angle to get a passport.
