I did a little digging and found some interesting information on the new acquisition.
Emerald Fields owns and operates two retail cannabis dispensaries, located in Manitou Springs (El Paso County) and Glendale (Arapahoe County), Colorado.

Pulled from Arapahoe County website:
The County has four legally-established medical marijuana dispensaries. These dispensaries were open and doing business prior to the County’s adoption of the provisions of the Land Development Code prohibiting the operation of commercial medical marijuana dispensaries in unincorporated areas. County regulations prohibit any new medical marijuana dispensaries.

As for El Paso County, and this was pulled from a Jan 2019 article so some things may or may not have changed:
If you’re looking for recreational marijuana, then El Paso County isn’t where you want to be. By code, the county bans retail marijuana shops. Colorado Springs is the same way. But not Manitou Springs.
Their two licensed stores are the only ones in the greater Colorado Springs area. This makes them among the most valuable in the state.
Being the only nearby option for a regional county population of nearly 700,000 people has enabled Manitou’s duo of marijuana storefronts, Emerald Fields and Maggie’s Farm, to charge at least twice the market rate for their products.
