I've heard a couple of things I'll add to your post.

First of all these California ports will ONLY accept union truck drivers with all the federal credentials, so there's a shortage of these people out there to even be able to pick-up containers. They don't have these problems in other areas of the country, like Florida. Everything there is running smoothly. California, as usual, is bogged down in government bureaucracy.

The other thing I don't get is why in the Hell would you set sail to a port when you know the container freight is backed up for weeks/months? I saw on the news the other day there were 111 ships sitting off the California coast waiting to go into port. Surely someone knew this was coming and could have made a phone call or two. LOL. Unfucking believable.

Finally, I saw on the news an importer here in the U.S. was being interviewed and he said his container shipping costs that were $2500 before can now be close to $25,000. That's ten times as much! Is it any wonder prices aren't going through the roof now.

There was some bitch on MSNBC the other day that was saying, "Yeah, inflation is here, but most of us can pay for it." I wanted to kick her so hard in the ass it was pitiful This is the way these Assholes think.
High inflation is killing the poor and people on fixed incomes. Who can save when all their savings is spent on high gas and food prices. Both not even counted in the Fed inflation numbers.
