They even have a name for companies making a tender offer. It's called an Issuer Tender Offer.

Seems like a perfect match for HERB. I have found one disadvantage though. It could be a lengthy and perhaps complicated process. Not sure if shares have to be registered. Whereas cash dividends are much quicker.

Also, the price has to be right. High enough, but a bit below fair value would be perfect IMO. Something like the $3 + $6 that I mentioned. If the price is too low, we are wasting too much valuable time. And if the price is too high, they may not have any shareholders left (and might as well go private) and they are not creating value for the shareholders who wish to stay.
