This was written on another board forum. Could a patent legal type please comment?

“In electronics, a delay-locked loop (DLL) is a digital circuit similar to a phase-locked loop (PLL), with the main difference being the absence of an internal voltage-controlled oscillator, replaced by a delay line. I worked on patents & knew the future memories were going to use a delay lock loop instead of the phase lock loop mentioned in the '912 patent. I also worked on the '912 patent & wanted to put the delay lock loop term in the description & claims & they said it was ok the term Phase lock loop & that the '912 patent can win court cases even if a delay lock loop is used in the memories.”

With all of the struggles that NLST has gone thru to assert that the patent’s verbiage remained unchanged when re-written, here comes our resident expert (not doubting his expertise one bit, I read his stuff intently) with the above.

I challenge anyone to tell me that the description would remain the same (to a judge or jury) if it was re-wrtten to include the delay lock loop that Wesley says it does.
I’m looking for someone to tell me I’m wrong here – please.
