This is something that I've wondering about with the coming cancellation of shares with NOUV...It was posted on another message board and written by someone else, but they seemed to know what they were talking about...

I don't know the details with this stock, but with some other custos I have been in on, the shares that are cancelled are owned by previous management or other large investors who cannot be located. For example, say John Smith was a co-founder of the company and owned 1M shares. If they do the DD and cannot locate him, they can go to court to have his stock canceled. Otherwise, I guess it has to come from stock they own.
