They made no such brag about Itanium, only said that units "increased."

Giving exact percentages would have allowed competitors to come up with close approximations, and subsequently FUD. Sun's "Chief Competitive Officer" would love to get exact Itanium sales numbers. He would probably compare them to Xeon sales to "prove" that the architecture isn't selling "fast enough".
