Are You Doing It Your Way?

There are literally millions, if not billions, of people in this world that insists on doing life “their own way”, with little to no regard of seeking to know and do God’s will for their life. I realize that many of these people have probably never heard the “gospel of truth”, or have ever seen a Bible, but that still leaves a vast majority of people that have no excuse – for they have heard the truth and/or read of it in God’s Word. This brings me to the point of this post:

God has never – nor will He ever – tolerate disobedience to Him, and having any form of an idol before Him.

Many have been deceived into believing that “God understands that’s just who I am”, or “God and I have an understanding that this is just how I am”. This is a lie from the great deceiver, and father of lies – satan himself. Also, you may say that “I don’t have any idols”, but in God’s eyes anything that comes between you and Him is an idol – whether it be a spouse, child, family, job, money, power, philanthropy, etc. All of these parts of life that make up who we are must not come before our adoration, worship, praise and obedience to the Lord our God.

I have also heard many say that “God told me to do this or that”, when what they were telling me did not align with the Word of God. If we have lived a certain way – doing things “our way” – for so long that the still, small voice that we used to hear telling us it was wrong is now nonexistent, then you are being deceived. The voice that you’re now hearing is not from God, as He would never tell you to do anything that doesn’t lineup with His written Word – the Holy Bible. Yes, that does imply the Old and New Testament together:

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.” ~ 2 Timothy 3:16

We are living in the “end times”, as evidenced from all of the current world events. Time is short, and we all need to be searching the scriptures and asking God to give to us the desire, knowledge, and wisdom to seek to know and do His will for our lives, and the courage, strength and stamina to walk it out every waking moment of our mortal lives.
