I'm stupidfied by your ongoing willingness to give what you refer to as a checkered history a pass (it's not checkered when all the squares are black) and propose hope that something works when nothing has.

But you can wrap your head around the science and it's all Greek to me. That said, this scientifically challenged observer doesn't get it.
