It comes down to where the money goes. If the employees still receive their paychecks and they do not bounce, employees will not know anything is wrong & keep showing up each day to work.
On the other hand, if the landlords do not receive rent and the food & liquor suppliers do not get paid, then everything will fall apart pretty quickly. First COD deliveries, then no deliveries, state tax department comes in, landlord may be last to figure out they are down the toilet. Oh also, when suppliers are not paid the word travels super fast to all restaurants & bars. Suppliers spread the word to all of their customers because they are pissed. Even the UPS or Amazon, or FedEx driver will hear & spread the word. The news & media will be last to hear about it.
