VERY SAD SITUATION

Note that in the previous year, selling and marketing for the first 2 quarters were 25K and 17K. For 2021, selling and marketing were 27K and 61K.

The increase in selling and marketing was huge percentage-wise, and was bigger in total dollars than the loss for the quarter.

That doesn't automatically mean they'd have had a gain if they'd spent at previous levels, since some of that spending should boost sales short term, but marketing affects things longer term. The increased spending on marketing might have been enough to turn a small gain into a small loss for Q2, while possibly benefiting later quarters.
