Ephesians 2:8-10

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Faith is the saving factor NOT our good works---through faith we are led by the Holy Spirit, who teaches us all things.....It is difficult in today's world not to rely on mankind's direction, even when we know mankind is full of prunes......If one's focus is on the good works then personal pride steps in and then our focus is on "look what I am doing", not on what God is allowing me to do.....just a morning thought
