The FCC authorization process is begun once your product is ready to be mass-produced and sold to consumers. Your device is tested to see if it may cause interference with other equipment, broadcasts in the correct radio frequency range, and meets other telecommunications requirements.

Apparently the Thin Cast was just ready for production fairly recently, right? May? Seems to me then that anything regulatory related regarding the older versions of the mirror would be irrelevant and obsolete now based on the above. It still has been a lengthy process I know

Should we assume that the Thin Cast Mirror actually needs FCC approval? Will it emit a radio frequency? Is this verified?

Most products that can emit radio frequency energy need to be tested and certified to be marketed or sold in the U.S. The best rule of thumb is that any electronics device with the ability to oscillate above 9 kHz must get an FCC authorization

Finally, I am going to assume at this point ('cause I'm out of time) that UL approvals may also require this condition: once your product is ready to be mass-produced So again, anything prior to May would be useless for the cert process of the new mirror.
