Welcome to a tiny free float. MMs simply executing orders with a very limited supply of stock. Only 7.2M in the float. Free float is assuredly much less than that (i.e what the longs are sitting on for the long haul). It's as simple as a supply and demand issue. When big news hits watch the spread get bigger!! The spread has nothing to do with shorts. It's where the MMs make money.
