I have the sense that this tactic is a stall. Megas's problem, at least as I see it, is that he inadvertently accepted the federal court's jurisdiction.

I wonder if he really had surgery on Monday, and will be having more in early October. If so, why did he only get the letter from his doctor just before the hearing? Unless it was an emergency, but that really does sound too convenient.
