I think it is simply company went current and now notes 1,4 and part 5 are being cleared out. Would roughly fit the 14 mil avg trades you referenced, what’s left is all restricted and not able to convert or be sold and of course the execs options.

For the volume level relative to settling trade I suspect there was net shorting today to drive the note exit lower and pick up sheep stop losses.

Logical to remove any and all immediate conversions before PR unveiling. Probably see short covering begin rapidly once the itch gets to strong leading right into PR to close out this week.. then JV
