I doubt that could happen just for regulatory reasons. Look up XRP lawsuit. SEC is claiming that XRP is a security instead of a currency and they were selling illegally. XRP is fighting and claiming the opposite and citing its use cases and the fact that it was allowed to trade freely for years before the SEC decided to "regulate" them.

There is pretty much no chance that a stock could merge with a crypto.
